Muma; मुमा

Surrounded by reminders of loss, Muma's eyes carry the weight of sorrow and the ache of longing for his presence. After the demise of her beloved husband, with whom she was married for 55+ years, Muma is experiencing an emotional rollercoaster in his absence. Muma serves as a window into her life at present, aiming to highlight the memories she shared with grandfather.

She's trying to navigate the empty spaces of their once-shared home, which now is too vast for her minimal existence. Yet there are glimpses of resilience grasped from the cherished times of their togetherness.

The Other Side Of The Night

The nights stretched endlessly
Not in solace, but as a battlefield.
There was a time when my world tilted,
Its colors muted.

And so I attempted, to stay sane.
With walls that spoke no answers,
With shadows that stopped to scare.

Time did not heal me; instead became a space.
What once felt unbearable became my guide.
Every scar roared the story
Not of pain, but of survival.

And now, when I reflect
I no longer see a battle fought.
I see seeds planted deep.
It sings of possibility,
And I listen,
To the sounds of long cold eerie night
With a deep breath and a warm heart.

A Day In The Life Of An Artisan

An artisan's day begins as early as the Sun rises and ends long after the Sun sets below horizon. Countless activities follow throughout and yet at the end of the day, it's always a struggle to make their ends meet. While they're busy sculpting Buddha (symbolic to peace), these artisans ironically have chaos and turbulent life. As the Sun sets, the women members' have an added responsibility of cooking meals for the family and looking after the kids.
